Relaxation Exercise for Stress Relief
A very effective 5 minute relaxation exercise -
It’s time to tense up! Purposefully clench every muscle in your body, including your fists, abs, teeth, cheeks, shoulders, ears and even your toes!
Hold on to the tension for a full 10 seconds.
Slowly begin to release each muscle one at a time.
As you inhale think of joy, peace, love and friendship.
As you exhale think of those things that cause you stress, one at a time and just let them all go.
Relaxation Exercise
Begin by getting a chair. Now lie on your back on the floor, and place your legs on the seat in a sideways position. Make sure the chair is right up against the bend in your knees. This is good relaxation exercise for your lower back. It also allows your whole body to let go of tension, and allow your muscles to begin to relax. Slow down your breathing too. If you really want to go deep into this relaxation exercise, try covering your eyes with a moist warm towel or cucumbers slices while you lay in this position.
Yoga, Meditation, and Other Relaxation Techniques
Stress Relief: Yoga, Meditation, and Other Relaxation Techniques
The body’s natural relaxation response is a powerful antidote to stress. Relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, visualization, progressive muscle relaxation, meditation, and yoga can help you activate this relaxation response. When practiced regularly, these activities lead to a reduction in your everyday stress levels. What’s more, they also serve a protective quality by teaching you how to stay calm and collected in the face of life’s curveballs.
Aerobics
Any activity that gets your heart pumping (aerobic exercise) will get those endorphins flowing and relieve stress. Though you should check with your doctor before embarking on any exercise program, walking is usually safe for anyone.
Breathing exercises are an ideal way to relieve stress in that they’re fast, simple, free, and can be performed by just about anyone. They can also be done anywhere and at virtually any time. These factors make stress relief breathing exercises one of my most popular and convenient tension tamers.
Binaural Beats are a new form of advanced audio technology that uses sound frequencies to directly alter brainwave patterns. When you listen to a Binaural Beats recording, you will instantly feel calm, serene, and composed – just by listening. We have compiled a relaxation MP3 called Instant Relaxation™ that finally makes this powerful technology available to the public.
Doing something you enjoy. A meaningful activity helps relieve tension. This can be a hobby, such as gardening; a creative activity, such as writing, crafts, or art; or doing volunteer work for a cause that benefits others. Playing with and caring for pets also can help you relax. Although you may feel that you are too busy, making time to do something you like can help you relax and make you more productive in other areas of your life.
